Cedar Point

One of my good friends, Ruth, offered us free tickets to Cedar Point this past October. Jordan grew up going there since he lived so close. We were excited to go and take Lily with us while Rob stayed with Granny.

Here is Lily all bundled up because it was cold, cold and cold. Like below 40 degrees. We arrived to the park a little after 10am for Halloweekends but we didn't know that the park didn't open until 11am!

So we all ducked into the nearest gift shop and let Lily run around in the warmth. Here are the two of us playing in the huge stuffed animal aisle. She had a blast running around and looking at all kinds of fun things. And we got to stay warm!

We finally got into the park and hustled over to the kiddie area that is located near the entrance of the park. Lily was very timid and didn't really want to ride anything. But we finally got her to go on the carosel first, all three of us. Isn't it sad that I got motion sickness on the carosel ride?! Lame-o.

After that, we headed to the Peanuts area for kids. By that time, Lily had warmed up to the idea of riding rides and most of them, we could go with her. The second ride was the hot air balloon ride. She loved it!

We needed a warmth break so we headed to an indoor food place and grabbed some food. Lily snuggled up to Jordan and enjoyed some warm food.

After lunch, we rode on a real steam engine! Lily was absolutely in love. She would say 'Heave, ho Thomas!' or 'Fizzling fireboxes!' as they would load the coal into the firebox. It was so much fun, we had front row seats. We rode on the train for 20 minutes, going twice around the park. She didn't want to get off!

After the train ride, we passed by this bumper boats ride for kids. Lily looks and says "I wanna ride dat one!" Jordan and I look at eachother like, okay she'll probably get up the gate and then not go on it. But, we got in line and the minute the boat was ready, she hopped right in. We were so surprised! She starts sputtering around and then turns the steering wheel until it gets stuck and moves her in a continual circle. She started to get a little dizzy and so we cheered her on to move the steering wheel again, to the middle. It was adorable. She rode on the boats 3 times!

The next ride she wanted to ride was the mini race car ride. I hopped in with her and just thought it was like a loop where the cars slowly drive around... I mean, this is a kids ride, right? Wrong. You would sputter along and then at the curves, it would whip you around - like the force of a scrambler. Phew! I got the hang of it but ever since I've had kids, my stomach is not the same.

Lily must have rode the car ride at least 3 times, twice with me and once with Daddy.

After that, we rode on a school bus that would go up and down in a circular motion, and you could see the lake from one of the views, it was pretty cool. We just stayed on the ride for a couple of times until Lily was ready to move on.

We passed by the swings and, once again, Lily wants to ride it and I look to Jordan who seems to say with his look 'let's try it, she may get scared and pee her pants though..' Well no peeing of the pants occurred and she loved it. At this point, Lily wanted to ride the same ride over and over again. And we obliged.

I got to ride with Lily too, those swings went pretty high! So much fun!

When we couldn't take the cold anymore and we knew that baby Rob would be missing us, we made our way to the exit of the park. But, Granny had given Lily a few dollars to spend. And what a better way than on cotton candy? I had her do the whole transaction - ask for the cotton candy, pay for it, get the change and receive it. You could tell she was pleased with herself :)

Cotton candy! Yuuuum!

We killed that cotton candy, it's so addicting! Sugar wisps, dye and artifical flavoring.. melt in your mouth magic.

On the way home, we stopped by Wendy's where Lily inhaled food. On the trip back home, Lily wouldn't fall asleep, we couldn't believe it! It was close to 3:30pm at that point and we figured she would pass out. About 10 minutes from Granny and Papa's house, she passes out. When we arrived, Jordan carried her upstairs where she slept until 5:00pm.

So thankful for friends and family who made this trip possible.

These pix are amazing! What a great way to remember the event. The pictures made it even better than you retelling it when you got home. Do it again...but always know you can come home and visit any time.
