All Things Rob

Robert is a snuggler, not in the same way that Lily is/was but in his own way. He still loves to snuggle and rock before he goes to sleep. It's so calming and warm and lovely - unless he is sick and we are rocking him for the 3rd hour in the middle of the night...

Recently, we have been doing 'hugs'. I call to Rob and say, 'Do you want to do hugs?' and he'll come over with a huge smile, with arms open to me. He'll snuggle his head onto my right shoulder and relax his whole body. Then I say '1 (light squeeze), 2 (light squeeze), 3 (big squeeze)!' Then he'll pull away, look at me and sign 'more'. It's adorable and heartwarming.

Here is he snuggling with Daddy while going through his first real cold.

Robert has thing thing with the gate. He will go over to it, shake it and then squeal like a little piggy. He loves it and hates it at the same time.

Robert loves to color, pencil, pen, doodle pad - anything where he can draw. He gets very into it, like where he will lean over 2 inches from the paper and delibrately move the pen/pencil/etc. One Sunday, he used the doodle pad for 20 minutes straight, complete concentration.

Here he is coloring on the play table in the play room. He feels like such a big boy when he gets tot sit there with Lily. It's adorable.

Rob is not a big TV watcher. At this age (15 months)  Lily would sit and watch TV for about 10 minutes at a time, whenever I would let her. Rob, on the other hand, could care less about TV. He may watch it for a few minutes - or if he is sick/really tired - maybe 10 minutes. He does, however, like the remotes :)

And he has figured out that the remote works the TV

And that pointing it at the TV makes sounds and lights change. P.S. aren't those overalls adorable?

Robert loves the play kitchen. He will go in the play room and play around for 30-45 minutes all by himself. No crying, no whining, just pure playing by himself and he is completely content. Whnen he first started doing it, I would think - is this normal? Should I be re-directing him to play with me? NO. Ha, it's a great skill to have - the ability to independently play. He loves to pull the sink out of the kitchen and put stuff in there. Or he loves to go into the cubby between the wall and the kitchen and play peek-a-boo.

He still loves to chew, on almost anything. He is currently working on 1 molar coming in and 2 about to cut.

He loves to play with any type of vacuums - mine, his own little one. He can now stand up, move the vacuum and walk with it. So stinkin' cute.

Rob is a climber. Lily was never/still really isn't a climber. Rob loves to climb up onto the play table and sit on the table, point to the posters and jabber like a cutie boy.

I used to hear sqwaks - ma! ma! maaaa! I would go into the play room and he wouldn't be able to get down and would need my help. Now he can get up and down without a problem.

Rob has the softest skin, it's so smooth and smooshy, just like a little boy's should be. It is a bit sensitive to fragranced lotions or to dry weather but it's nothing a little Aveeno won't fix.

Robert is doing really well at signing. He can sign: up, more, all done, please, open and then he can nod for yes and shake for no. I love his little signs, two way communication is always better than one way!

Can you believe this picture?? He climbed up onto the toy chest, over the toys, onto the lid and then into the cubby hole. I will surely have my hands full soon and most likely a broken bone(s) in his childhood.

Lily loved this little bouncing Zebra with its silly sounds and flashing lights. Robert, on the other hand, is a bit more sensitive to sounds. He doesn't like the zebra to make sounds while he rides. Or, the beauty vanity when it turns on and says "Hi! What would you like to do today?" - he straight up stops in tracks. Pauses. Cries. Or, the Little People's barn - he loves to hear the music play Old McDonald but if by some chance you hit the horse's stall and the horse noise is made, he does the same thing. Stops. Pauses. Wells up big ole' tears and bawls. It's cute and so sad at the same time!

Here Rob is, climbing again. He loves that little chair. It sings and talks when he sits on it. And that smile, what a big one! He is such a sweet child. He is smiley, silly and snuggly. Recently, he has been completely in love with Jordan. Like, when Jordan leaves the room he gets really upset. Jordan leaving for work has been tough on him. I remember Lily going through this too, it's so sad. When he sees Jordan, his eyes light up and he wants to nuzzle him. If Jordan is standing up, Jordan will take him and he'll 'go limp' and snuggle into his neck. If Jordan is on the floor or laying down, Robert will walk over, fall down and just body slam him and go limp. It's so precious!

At 15 months, Rob weighs 23lbs 2oz and is 31 inches

I just treasured the moments he would put his hands up to me to lift him and snuggle...not to mention steal a couple of kisses. Great christmas moments
