Kitchen Renovation

I am trying to find the original photo of the kitchen when we bought the house, but I think they are on the external hard drive. When we first moved in, there was an older cream colored oven. Then, within the first few months of living here, we bought the one you see below - a GE double oven with a flat top. It was a deal at a dents place for $650!

About a year ago, we started getting serious about a kitchen renovation. We would like new doors, sink, countertops but we had a few hiccups - including a brand new HVAC unit... A year ago, we did purchase the Bosch over the range stainless steel microwave from Craigslist for $200.

The microwave sat in our basement for a year, until about a month ago. Jordan decided to do a cabinet switch-a-roo and installed the microwave. He ended up installing ventilation to the outside of the house, instead of just circulating the air within the kitchen.

He had to take the cabinet from the desk area and switch it with the larger cabinet from above the stove. We then took off the microwave stand and left the desk area with just one cab and a more open area.

The next step was to paint the kitchen after much patching, sanding and touching up the walls.

Here is the new desk area - although it's not quite finished yet. We still need to install new cabinet doors and countertops.

We went with a mild cornflower blue color for the accent wall and a light gray for the main color.

It made such a big difference! The kitchen feels more fresh and bigger.

Soon we'll have....

...new cabinet doors...

...that will look like this but with a stain on them. We are still debating on a darker stain or keeping with the stain that is already on the outside of the cabs.

I'll keep you posted!
