This is our tree. We planted it last year after it was cut down from the infamous emerald ash borer. In place of it, we planted a new one and Lily loves to help water the tree.
We thought we need to get a picture of both kids next to the tree each year around the same time to see how they are all growing. Lily, naturally, poses with her superstar arms!
Rewind back to September 2011, this is what the tree and Lily looked like
It's amazing to see what a year of growing can bring for Lily and the little tree. Here she is with hair to her shoulders (now about 8 inches longer), cute little feet in her hot pink crocs and necklaces adorning her neck (that hasn't changed!)
I realized I didn't take a formal shot of her next to the tree, so this once will have to do. Just a couple of weeks after we planted this tree last year, we welcomed Robert into our home and lives. What a sweet time time this was for our family
