18 Months

My little Lily Mae is 18 months old. I cannot believe it! I think this toddler age range has been my favorite of Lily's little life so far. Don't get me wrong - I loved the 6 month age range and when she started walking too, around 12 months. (Note that the newborn phase was left out of my love list..!) But right now she is just going through such a huge explosion of language, communication, personality and affection for us.

Her stats:
*Weight: 21 lbs 14 oz
*Height: 32 inches
Healthy and finally off of her acid reflux medicine!

Lily is a chatter box. Ask Colleen or my neighbors, who see her the most, and they will tell you she loves to talk. She talks with her hands, her tones, her face and giggles. When we went to the doctor for her check up, he asked if she could say more than 'mama' and 'dada' - check, okay more than 3 words? - check - how about more than 6 words? for sure. He was surprised at her vocabulary... hello, bye bye, night night, watch, cookie, help, hippo, hush, apple, bubble, where is, what's this, banana, cheese, go, purple, ball, hat, potty, up, cup and sky.

She also has started singing along with my to 'twinkle twinkle little star' and 'I am a child of God'. It's sooo cute. She loves to sing, be sung to and dance to music. She also loves the little poems that we say from library story time - 'special baby' and 'this is how the ladies ride'. Once we start singing or saying poems we have to do it at least three times, if not go through our entire library of little kid's songs. Phew!

Lily is in love with her Daddy. She will ask at least once, if not 20 times a day, 'Where's Dada?' She will wake up from her naps asking for Jordan. When she finds out it's me instead of Jordan - she doesn't want to leave her crib. Hehe.

The other day, we ran into CVS (in search of Easter candy on clearance) and I didn't put her in a cart. As we were leaving, she ran through the aisles trying to touch every product and in the most joyous voice she could muster, exclaimed 'Ooooo, what's this? Oh! What's this Mama?' She wants to know the name for everything. It's a whole new world for her, everything has a name/sound/word and she wants to know it! Guess how many times I had to say cookie before she mimicked it? Once ;)

The other day it reached 80 degrees so we got our bating suits on and played in our flamingo sprinkler! Now, each time Lily sees her bathing suit, she gets super excited, in hopes that we will go outside again and play in the water.

Lily riding Bradley (although Jordan can never remember that name and usually ends up calling it Stanley). My maternal Grandpa made this horse for me when I was about 4 years old and now Lily gets to enjoy her!

Although she is way too small for it, she still likes to sit up there and attempt to rock

Lily enjoying the hammock from Mother's Day, she is chill when she gets in there, it's adorable!
