We had our final dinner party at our home on Hartsdale Drive on the 4th of July.
We invited our closest friends and celebrated the independence and overall wonderful-ness of the country we are so blessed to live in.
As we prepared for this party, Jordan and I were happy and sad at the same time. What a bittersweet time it was as we left Ohio.
But, once the party started it was all good. Even if it was raining!
We prepared hot dogs, burgers and some blue star rice krispie treats.
Lily was all set in her patriotic dress and the new sunglasses I had just bought her from Meijer
We had planned on the party being outside, where there is lots of area for everyone to eat and the kids to make a mess, but we ended up with blankets on the floor in the playroom for the chitlins.
They did really well!
Here are the guests loading up - Chad Hoyle, Jen Philpott and Colleen Eve
Everyone brought a variety of sides and desserts - how cute is the star watermelon and blueberry fruit salad??
Here is little Robert in his patriotic outfit for the day
The rain finally stopped, just in time for the annual parade up and down Hartsdale. Everyone decorated their bikes, stroller and wagons. With Stars and Stripes Forever playing on the boombox, we began the marching with flags waving in the air.
Our neighbors even came out with their camping chairs to watch our parade :)
Once we returned, we said the pledge of allegiance to the flag and enjoyed red, white and blue popsicles.
Giving cheers with the USA popsicles
