Finger Painting

Nee-nee (also known as Jordan's Mom) gave Lily finger paints awhile back. It's so funny that she enjoys using a paintbrush versus using her fingers. We set up her art easel with paper and her little table set up with the works. She loved it.

Lily learned how to dip in paint, paint on the paper (and not the easel), dip and tap in water and then tap on the paper towel before getting more paint.

She did really well and only got paint on the carpet once :) Next time, we'll go on the laminate in the kitchen.

Here is my little Monet...

Once again, another trait of Lily's is she doesn't like being dirty. And it leaves me asking - did I teach her this or is it apart of her personality she was born with?

Another interesting note, she didn't mix colors - in the bowl or on the paper. She kept each color in it's own little area. Organization skills already? Sometimes I will find her 'straightening' things around the house that she precieves are 'out of order'. For example; we were in the bathroom the other day and she moved the trash can 4 inches to the right and then push it back. She then said 'there we go!'

Finished product: two paintings followed by a bunch of train post-it notes. She made each post-it note into a train and then placed them all on the fridge. Too cute!

excellent child. reminds me of my mom...who refused to be dirty even as a child. hated sand between her toes, etc. and her home was always immaculate.
